I grew up as a young lad drawn to a life of crime. It was the violence, money and danger. Although living that life cost me a lot. I spent many years in and out of prison, even my 21st birthday was spent behind bars. It’s only as I grew older into my 30s did I feel my life has to change.
To be resilient, you have to make a decision and commit to a new life. I gained an education whilst in prison and became an electrician, as the desire to live a life free from looking over my shoulder became greater than the attraction of crime.
I use those experiences to support other people. I hope my story demonstrates you can change, if you want to.
